Connect an AI assistant (MCP)
You can run your sites from the AI app you already use. Webmarlin is an MCP server: once an app such as Claude or ChatGPT is connected, you ask it in plain words and it works on your sites through your account.
Connect Claude or ChatGPT
Webmarlin works as a connector (an MCP server) for AI apps. Once connected, the app can read your sites and, if you allow it, create pages, write posts, upload images and publish.
- In Claude (Settings → Connectors) or ChatGPT (connectors / apps), add a custom connector with the server URL
https://mcp.webmarlin.com/. - The app opens a Webmarlin page: Connect to Webmarlin. Sign in if asked.
- Under Which websites can it use? choose All my websites or Only the websites I choose.
- Press Allow access. You return to the app, connected.
The page lists what the app will be able to do: see your websites, pages, posts, products, forms and settings; create and change content; publish. A connection request expires after 10 minutes. An app not verified by Webmarlin carries a warning; only continue if you started the connection yourself. (Screenshot not available: the consent page needs a live connection request.)
Then ask in the app, for example: "On my bakery site, add a Wedding cakes page with three example cakes and a contact form."
What a connected assistant can do

The assistant follows the AI brief in Settings → General, like the editor's own AI. Its changes reach visitors only when the site is published, and it can publish, so tell it when you want to review first.
Stay in control
- Choose Only the websites I choose on the consent page to keep other sites out of reach.
- Lock a page (the lock icon in Pages) to stop assistants from changing it; they cannot edit it until someone unlocks it.
- If you have a page open while an assistant changes it, the editor tells you and lets you keep your edits or load theirs (see Troubleshooting).
- To stop using an app, remove the Webmarlin connector in that app. The console does not yet list connected apps.
